Flower power with Oasis for Dig the City

by Manchester Arndale, 30th July 2015 | Students, Fashion

Florals are a staple look in our Summer wardrobe

They come out for wedding guest outfits, the races, Prom season….

But sometimes we can get a bit stuck in a rut, bringing out the same flower-print dress for every occasion. So, with Dig the City returning to the city between Friday 31 July – Sunday 9 August, why not use the urban gardening festival as inspiration / an excuse to splash out on some new on+-trend florals that will really mix up your look!

The Oasis team have invited us in to the store to explore their modern take on florals this summer. It’s all about the “Peony Print” at Oasis this season and we can’t get enough of it!

We take you through all the beautiful looks below, modelled by Oasis’ store assistant Charlotte. All the looks were pulled together by the store’s personal stylist, Hayley. If you’re feeling nervous about how to rock a double floral look or don’t know where to start with making your look fresh, you can book a complimentary appointment with Hayley in store or find out more about the service by visiting Meet the Stylist.

All looks from Oasis and available in Manchester Arndale at time of publication (L-R):

Look one: Subtle Summer Petals
Not ready to commit to a full floral print quite yet?
Hayley tells us that this Peony Print Cami is the perfect compromise for those less girly-girls wanting to try a floral this summer. Peony Print Cami, £26, Jade Stretch Skinny Mid Blue Jeans, £40, Wedge Espadrilles £45.

Look two: Floral tailoring.
Feeling bold?
Floral tailoring is totally on trend for Summer ’15 and we can’t resist this outfit– Hayley has paired the statement blazer with a pair of floral city shorts for a look that can be styled for a wedding, occasion or night out. Go on, jump right into the floral trend we dare you! Peony Unstructured Blazer, £70, White Cami, £22, Peony Print City Shorts, £38, wedge heels £45.

Look three: Party Florals
Make a statement on a night out with head to toe modern florals. This jumpsuit flatters all figures with its cinched in waist and loose floral print – dress it up even more with a bold floral statement necklace and don’t forget a pair of towering heels! Silhouette Jumpsuit, £65, Wedge Espadrilles, £45.

Look four: The Smart Joggers
For those ready to take florals out of the “pretty occasion-only” box and give them a bit more attitude, these smart floral joggers are for you. Hayley paired them with a stunning jade green sleeveless top for a look that can take you from day to night easily. Roll Neck Tunic, £30, Jessica Trouser, £38, Wedge Espadrilles, £45.

Look five: The Statement Blazer
If you’re looking to just dip your toe into the floral trend this floral blazer is the key piece for you. Oversized for a chic shape, Hayley suggests pairing it with a simple black jumpsuit and summer wedges. Peony unstructured blazer, £70, Black Penny Strappy Jumpsuit, £65 and Wedge Espadrilles, £45.
