Trending : AW17

Summer is officially over and the eagerly awaited AW17 trends are in abundance. Many trends are hitting their third or fourth winter season in favour (take the chunky knit and midi skirt combination for example), and that is a wondrous thing. From space-age metallic to head to toe reds, these are the trends worth noting.

We have a super-trend on our hands - From scarlet reds at Alexander McQueen to deeper wines at Max Mara, it’s the colour to be seen in this season. We’re not just talking a splash here and there we’re talking head to toe, the bolder the better and seriously full on sex-siren red.

Metallic shines through this season thanks to the creative genius of such visionaries as Karl Lagerfeld –  whose space-themed collection included metallic quilt shawls and silver leather sheepskin jackets. Seen at so many shows, the high shine of sleek silver and other metallics are back with a modern twist. Whether it’s a pleated skirt, playsuit or ankle boots, autumn/winter 2017 looks set to be a shiny one!

This trend is all about luxe sportswear that will never venture near a gym, but sit perfectly with the rest of your wardrobe. Keep your colour combo monochrome for a touch of chic.Sports luxe has been a supermodel wardrobe staple for some time – we blame Kendall, Gigi and Bella- and it’s going nowhere fast! Still unsure of trainer attire for day to day wear? Take the leap! As Victoria Beckham and countless fashion editors have shown, the sports shoe is now deemed smart enough for the front row.

It’s official, red and pink is the new black. And we’re very excited to try out the contrasting soft pink and daring reds to create stylish and unexpected autumn/winter looks! These vibrant hues play-off each other perfectly when styled with a contemporary touch, and not just for the ladies, fashion has embraced pink as a power colour for men too.

Outerwear will become the most defining part of your wardrobe, so if you buy only one thing this season, make it a statement coat. Practical, warm, chic: but what if you want all of that on top of your coat being described as a statement piece? Totally possible. And what makes a winter coat a statement? We’re thinking gorgeous tailoring, a rich, timeless hue (camel, moss green, midnight blue), exaggerated lengths and oversized fits.
