Italy is arguably one of the most beautiful countries in Europe and is internationally recognised for its amazing food, so it’s no surprise that WOLF, the Italian Street Food restaurant has quickly become a firm favourite since its arrival at the start of November. We can see what all the fuss has been about from its success in London, Reading and Leeds.
WOLF brings new and creative ideas to the table, offering the Italian Burrito, a new take on Italian cuisine but boy does it work! Just imagine...fresh Italian flatbreads from the Emilia-Romagna region, rolled into a burrito filled with pulled pork or garlic and rosemary steak, filled with spaghetti, and served with a choice of toppings and sauces...I mean, come on!
The best thing about WOLF is that you get the option to choose your own base and build your own meal! We’re practically Italian chefs now. Choose from a pasta or salad bowl, or piada (freshly baked Italian Focaccia)
Japan: Yo Sushi
The Japanese have nailed the art of being efficient and organised when it comes to dining. Yo Sushi are experts at this and along with their beautifully crafted meals, a trip to their diner really transports you straight to the bright lights of Tokyo.
If you’re new to the world of sushi, Yo Sushi is a very good place to start. It’s consistent, reliable and always delivers delicious dishes.
The maki plates are always perfect for starters, filled with all our faves: avo, cucumber, or salmon. Our personal favourite sushi dish is the Salmon & Avocado Temaki, a beautifully crafted, hand-rolled sushi wrap, exploding with beautiful and wholesome flavours!
New additions to the menu include the Yasai, filled with Inari, avo, cucumber, lettuce and carrot, accompanied with teriyaki and vegan mayo. Even if you’re not vegan, this dish is a must-try!
The salmon platter is one of the most popular things on the menu, and it’s easy to see why,
You get 4 salmon maki, 4 salmon nigiri, 2 Yo! Rolls and 4 slices of thick cut salmon sashimi. We’ve died and gone to Salmon heaven.
For the veggies, the vegetable Gyoza is definitely one to try: Spinach dumplings loaded with cabbage, carrots and edamame.
Ahora vamos a México! Get your Sombrero on because it’s burrito time! With each bite, Barburrito will send you to the luscious beaches of Cancun and Tulum, just remember to come back and pick up your car.
Offering a range of flavoursome burritos, there’s the trusty Classic Burrito, or the Superfood Burrito for all you health freaks, packed with crunchy slaw instead of rice.
If burritos are not exactly what you are looking for a lunch time meal, then you can always tuck into the tacos, for a bit of a lighter option. Once a base is created, you’re spoilt for choice on fillings, with chicken, pulled pork, sweet potato chilli and flash fried veg, to just name a few. See you in Mexico! (Without the 12 hour travel time)
America - Auntie Anne’s
As northerner’s we should really say that our favourite Auntie is Bessie, (The saviour of many a Sunday Roast) but there’s another contender on the block: Auntie Anne. Auntie Anne’s Pretzels arrived in the centre in November, straight from the state of Pennsylvania.
If you’ve been to visit us recently, you will have smelt them before you saw them. Warm baked, sweet aromas ooze from the counter, drawing us in like zombies!
We’d recommend the Pretzel Dogs, with their famous pretzel dough wrapped around a juicy hot-dog. Trust us on this one! There’s also the Sour Cream & Onion Pretzel for a savoury snack with a difference!
To get your sugar fix, the Cinnamon Sugar will do the job. (Maybe a bit too well if we’re honest don’t blame us if you get a sugar crash)
