But have no fear, we’re here to help you. Your very own dating connoisseur! Think Fred from First Dates… that’s us! Below are all the tips you need for a successful dinner date.
Dating tip number 1: Go easy on the toppings at five guys - no one likes a messy eater!
Too often when dining at a burger joint, spillage is a problem! You take that first juicy bite and half the contents ends up on you rather than in you. To combat this problem, why not take it easy on the toppings and instead of going for the whole shabang, pick a modest 2 or 3 toppings! This will stop your mouth stretching to the max, and will mean your face doesn’t look like it's blowing into a trumpet trying to reach a high C...oh and also, take small bites so that you can still maintain a convo!
Dating tip number 2: Avoid the extra hot sauce at Nando’s -dripping with sweat isn’t the strongest look!
There is always that one person who goes into Nando’s thinking they can take on the Extra Extra Hot Peri-Peri sauce without breaking a sweat. Now we’re all about trying new foods and spices, but perhaps this isn’t the time.
When taking a date out for a cheeky Nando’s you don’t have to prove yourself to be the master of spice… instead tone it down a notch and stay safe with the medium choices. Keep your pores intact and stay hydrated out there!
Dating tip number 3: Don’t overdo it on the cookie dough. Sugar rushes are all well and good, but not when they result in you needing a lie-down.
Despite how ridiculously delicious cookie dough tastes, It can quickly turn into your enemy once the sugar rush subsides. Leaving you with that sluggish and tired feeling, which is all well and good when you’re rocking your lounge-wear on your sofa, but not so good when you’re on a date.
Your best bet is to share one: that way, you’ll both stay awake and who knows, you could even end up creating your very own Lady and The Tramp moment!
Dating tip number 4: Practice your chopstick skills before you dine at YO! Sushi. Even if you have to do it with pencils at home. (Chopstick tekkers are attractive!)
Show off your eclectic taste in cuisine, by taking your date to YO! Sushi. You can impress them with your cultured taste in food, your mad chopstick skills and your knowledge of oriental cuisine and even if you’ve not mastered all of this - you’re guaranteed to have a laugh. (Just maybe leave your pencils at home)
Dating tip number 5: Struggling to make a decision? We’ve got your back, just head to the Manchester Arndale Market!
If you decide that a sit-down meal was ‘so last year’, then why not take your date for a trip around the world for some yummy street food. (When we say ‘around the world’ we mean the Manchester Arndale Market) It’s full of great places to eat and drink, with a wide range of cuisines from around the globe on offer.
So if you’re struggling to decide on where to eat, The Market is your answer. You can try Vietnamese, whilst your date tries Mexican. They say opposites attract after all!
Good luck out there. The world of dating can be a scary place, but hopefully you’ll get to try some tasty grub along the way!
