Shop to the music
A new Manchester-based orchestra group of young musicians is to perform its first ever grand-scale performance within an unusual setting - Manchester Arndale shopping centre!
Kaleidoscope Orchestra is made up of 28 young musicians who are all in their early twenties and come from across the UK but each have a connection to Manchester through study or performance. They all hope to become professional musicians and already between them have some very impressive credentials. Conductor Duncan Ward, 21, has just been selected as one of ten conductors to audition for a two-year apprenticeship with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
The lunch-time free performance will be held in the aptly named Halle Square with in the centre on Thursday 24th February during the half-term break for shoppers and passers-by to enjoy the sounds of classical music.
